CASEBOOK allows audiences unprecedented access to the artists involved in the creation of a new work from rehearsal to production. Each year, New York Theatre Workshop designates one of its productions as a case study and hosts a class designed to provide theatre lovers of all experience levels with a true insider’s view of the life of a theatre artist and the process of realizing a full professional production. For the 2015/16 Season, the designated production is Hadestown by Anaϊs Mitchell, developed with and directed by Rachel Chavkin.
CASEBOOK: The Making of Hadestown runs for 10 sessions on Tuesday evenings from 6:30-9PM from March 15th – May 17th, 2016*.
Moderators: Alexander Santiago-Jirau, NYTW Director of Education; Aaron Malkin, NYTW Literary Associate
Special Guests: James C. Nicola, NYTW Artistic Director; Jeremy Blocker, NYTW Managing Director; and the artists involved in the production of Hadestown, including writer Anaϊs Mitchell and director Rachel Chavkin.
Space is limited and registrations will be accepted on a rolling basis in the order in which they are received.
