Read Synopsis
“This story is about my matriarch blood ties to the soil of our ancestral house on Degraw St. in Brooklyn, New York. Stories of being brought up in a Mafia run neighborhood when we were the only Natives on the block during the 1970’s Native American Indian Movement. This is the story of survival, genocide, relocation, the boarding school system and the outlaw by the United States Government that we could not practice our cultural traditions. This story is about my family’s triumph of will, intergenerational dysfunction, & historical trauma through laughter. My personal recollection of the family’s foundation. Step into the storybook of one Tipi Tale of the city…”
