NYTW EMERGING ARTISTS OF COLOR FELLOWSHIPS

February 1, 2008

New York Theatre Workshop is now accepting applications for the following 2008/09 Emerging Artists of Color Fellowships. These fellowships would entail a commitment from June 2008 to June 2009.

• Four (4) fellowships total for directors, playwrights, and/or designers of color

Since 1995, New York Theatre Workshop has awarded fellowships to promising young theatre artists of color in order to help them develop their crafts while utilizing the resources of an established nonprofit producing company. The Emerging Artists of Color Fellowship program grew out of NYTW’s belief that a diversity of ideas, experience, and culture is crucial to theatrical innovation. Fellows are given access to rehearsal space, office facilities and equipment, casting assistance, mentoring, and other forms of support as determined on an individual basis. All Fellows will be awarded a $4000 stipend and offered occasional group theatergoing opportunities that may include travel.

We seek dedicated and motivated candidates who wish to develop their talents and skills by participating in a dynamic, artist-centered creative community.

Applications must be RECEIVED by 5pm on Friday, March 14, 2008.
