REDEYE: A New York — Ljubljana Translation Think Tank
(October ‘06) The first ever USA-Slovenia theater exchange!

New York’s WaxFactory and PreGlej from Ljubljana, Slovenia joined forces to create a multi-part playwriting exchange between the United States and Slovenia. Three playwrights from Slovenia will come to New York this fall to work intensively on translations of their plays in collaboration with three downtown playwrights. The results of this exciting experiment in cultural and linguistic translation will be presented at NYTW from October 1st-4th, as a part of the citywide European Dream Festival, a citywide festival hosting the leading creative voices and artistic visions in performing arts, literature, and film from a newly extended Europe.

The series is preceded by a preview event and panel discussion with the playwrights, and the afternoon performances of each of the plays will be followed by a talkback.

All events are free.
